After facing much scrutiny, Live Nation has modified their refund policy to be more flexible and consumer friendly.
The pandemic has cancelled and reschedule countless events for the foreseeable future. In response to this, the entertainment company only allowed refunds for cancelled events. This has since been changed to permit refunds for rescheduled events.
Consumers now have the option of receiving a cash refund, concert credit, or donating their money to health care workers.
Similar to AEG, starting May 1st they will issue refunds for cancelled events and shows with finalized make-up dates within a 30-day window.
Elected officials began to pushback after consumers voiced their displeasure with the initial policy.
“Ticketmaster is allegedly preying on consumers during a time of significant crisis,” wrote New York state Senator James Skoufis wrote in the letter to state Attorney General Letitia James. “They are potentially withholding billions of dollars that many now need to survive this pandemic.”
We’re curious as to what the refund policy will look like for Season Ticket holders. I’d assume in this event they’d be given a credit towards the next season. This pandemic may drive down Season Ticket renewals for years to come.
