The 2020 National Hockey League season is currently wrapping up with the Stanley Cup round robin. While playoffs banning attendance is not ideal, fans are getting creative with how to come together and support their favorite hockey team while socially distancing.
According to NBC Chicago, Chicago Blackhawks’ fans have the opportunity to gather in the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium parking lot for just $40 per car load. The drive-in watch parties are heightened with mascot appearances and other surprises.

Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago Blackhawks are in luck! According to the team’s official website, fans still have a chance to join the Priority Access list for an opportunity to purchase season tickets for the 2020-2021 season. The website notes “if the season is delayed, shortened or played without fans in attendance, any ticket purchases and payments you make will be held on account and made available for you to use when that day comes.”
Boston Bruins
In July 2020, Boston Bruins season ticket holders were sent an email seeking submissions for “virtual cheers, chants, celebrations, and even booing, all of which are eligible to be featured during the playoff action.” The Boston Bruins are unable to seat new Season Ticket Holders at this time for the next season, but note fans can “score priority access to seats when they become available by joining the Boston Bruins Season Ticket Waitlist and placing a $100 deposit per seat (maximum of 4).”
Montréal Canadiens
The Montréal Canadiens are at the Season Ticket Waiting List stage as well. Joining the waiting list requires a $100 deposit and a $39 annual fee. In exchange, fans are given a precise priority rank and will be allowed to take advantage of pre-sale access for the purchase of up to 6 tickets for a regular team, lowered to 4 tickets for a playoff game. The $100 deposit is applied to the future purchase of season tickets.
Pittsburg Penguins
The Pittsburg Penguins randomly selected current season ticket holders to receive a special “Home Watch Party Kit” featuring merchandise, Penguins masks, gift cards and more. Fans now have the chance to reserve season tickets for the 2020-21 season with a $100 deposit.
Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings Season Ticket Holder Membership Program, officially titled “Winged Wheel Nation,” is showing their biggest fans love as well. Winged Wheel Nation members who have renewed their season tickets for 2020-21, can also keep credits from March and April postponed games and get a 30% discount on their account, based on the original price.
