When the New Orleans Pelicans drafted him as the first pick in 2019, you can imagine the excitement in New Orleans. The team, city, Season Ticket holders and fans were all ready for their new hero as many heroes of past left the organization.
With the talent comes a cost, a cost paid for by the fans. Season ticket holders sitting in sections that are regularly empty have seen their ticket packages increase 80-90%. The length of payment plans have reduced and other fan favorite benefits like the beer garden have been removed.
While an increase price is expected, an 80-90% surge is exorbitant. The franchise has even up-sold items that were previously free. Season Ticket holders are not being charged $100 to access the physical ticket booklet.
Many have cited they will not renew their Season Tickets or decrease the amount of games they will attend. This is a quick way to disrupt a loyal fan base and gamble on the organization that hasn’t regularly sold out games.
